Turbine Cowboy

Charlie Pond, co-founder of PAL, has innovated many field-engineering modifications for our clients. His mechanical capabilities and engineering ingenuity are legend. For instance, Charlie was the first to successfully change variable inlet guide vanes (VIGV) on a Frame 5 gas turbine with the rotor in place and without the need of a temporary rotor support system (the OEM said it couldn't be done!). His technique saved clients hundreds of thousands of dollars in unnecessary disassembly of their gas turbines. On a recent occasion, when the OEM had no solution for excessive "rock" of compressor stator blades, Charlie and the PAL staff devised an innovative staking method to secure the blades in their dovetail fits.

Our entire staff has the technical expertise, extensive experience and applied knowledge to meet your gas turbine goals of reliability, availability and maintainability, while assuring high power output and optimal thermal efficiency.
