Results of 2006 NARRC Runoffs

Erin Graff finished second in G-production North Atlantic Road Racing Championship “Runoffs” in October 2006 at Lime Rock Park, CT.  Erin (daughter of PAL employee Kim Graff) drove the red MGA coupe called “Lil Deuce Coup.”

Meanwhile, her dad drove Dave and Sheelah Lucier’s 1950 MGTD “Hogwarts Special” to a third-place finish in the same race in the G-production group.  That gave Kim enough points to finish third in the overall NARRC championship series.

In 1996, Kim won the E-production NARRC championship in the team’s 1963 MGB with a 4-cylinder 1600 cc engine (shown herein cornering on two wheels).

Note: The MGB will be resurrected and sponsored by PAL Engineering next year with an aluminum Rover V-8 engine.  It is expected to develop over 500 hp and weigh approximately 1800 pounds.  Kim will likely drive it in the Collier Cup, the all MG race at Watkins Glen in September 2007.  Lucier and partner, Charlie Pond, have decided that we want to “win that race once and for all.”  This is the MG that could do it with Kim at the wheel.

Unstable Equilibrium: Kim Graff driving MGB with two wheels up

The Kim's Motorsports team competes in Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and Volvo Historic Series (VHS) events. We race a bevy of British MG roadsters and coupes from the 1950s and 1960s. The next generation is already involved. Kim's daughter, Hillary, a college student, is a licensed SCCA race car driver, and was named Mohawk-Hudson Rookie of the Year in 2001.

PAL Engineer Charlie Pond drives the PAL-owned 1961 MGA at Watkins Glen. In 2001, Charlie took first in class in his first three races.

Kim's Motorsports team typically competes at five regional race tracks: Pocono, PA; Lime Rock Park, CT; Loudon, NH; Mosport in Ontario, Canada, and Watkins Glen, NY.
